About Us
The Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship is a non-political, and non-profit initiative created in 1991 to celebrate the remarkable contributions of Singapore’s first Prime Minister, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, in shaping the nation’s growth and success. The Fellowship is honoured to have the Prime Minister of Singapore as its Patron.
Participation in the Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship programme is by invitation only. The Fellowship invites individuals from a diverse range of fields, including political leaders, senior civil servants, distinguished military officers, heads of state-owned enterprises, prominent businesspeople and professionals, respected academics, senior journalists and editors, union leaders, and officials from international organisations.
Vision and Purpose
The Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for exceptional individuals from around the world to visit Singapore. These individuals are leaders with proven accomplishments in their field and potential to make a significant impact in their own countries, as well as foster greater international understanding and goodwill.
The visit programme of up to ten days includes a range of high-level interactions, briefings, discussions, tours and social activities in Singapore. During their visit, each Fellow is given the opportunity to participate in personalised programmes focused on their areas of interest and expertise. Fellows will also become acquainted with various facets of Singapore, including its political, business, industrial and social structures. These visits provide Singapore’s leaders with valuable insights into the issues affecting the Fellows’ countries, creating a space for the exchange of ideas and perspectives.
